WOYWW 374 - A Mess I Tell Ya'

Getting Straight to the Mess this morning.

Although I did finally finish the layout that has been setting on it for the last 3 weeks. I couldn't find the right color of glitter paper but did find the right color of glitter. So after using my silhouette to cut out a cursive welded words, I applied glue and glitter. The glitter does come off a bit. I should have mixed it with gel medium instead. I think of that for art journaling but not for scrapbooking. Smacking myself in the head now.  The layout is under my composition book (that is where I keep my to do lists). I have some foam veggie trays that can be used for making my own stamps or for relief prints.

I have a clear container that I thought I'd see if all of my Shimelle collection would fit into it. The 12x12 pads don't work so well in it. Not to worry, I have a different container that I think will work. I just didn't have any more time. I still have the papers from the page kit I was working on and 2 more photos to do with those papers.

But I'm itching to get some mixed media going. Peggy aplSEEDS shared a site called atcforall when I was so excited about my first ATCs for the 7th anniversary. I just joined the site and am seriously anxious to get in on a couple of swaps.  (Thanks Peggy. I know your on holiday and probably won't read this.)

That's it for me. I will be visiting everyone tomorrow. As my washer has broken. The rubber seal needs replacing. I ordered the part yesterday, but it will be next week before it comes and hubs can repair.  So I am off this morning to the laundromat. ugh.

Visit all the work desks by jumping over to Julia's blog.

  3. Well I think your desk looks very intriguing. I'm always forgetting certain techniques only remembering them later on! Thanks for sharing. Take care Zo xx 25

  4. Laundromat. Ugh, I agree. Still, you have all this lovely paper to look forward to....its great to see your working space is so small compared to the desk space - we work the same way! I'm not brave enough to make my own stamps though - even a silhouette cut from a veggie tray would be unidentifiable!

  5. I agree with Julia....laundromat......ughhh! I remember those dreaded hours back in my "single" days when I couldn't afford a washer! I pray I never have to go back there! I send "speedy fix it prayers" your way! LOLOL A lot going on at your crafty space! Love it! Yay for mixed media time - my fave! Blessings for the rest of the week! Felicia #34

  14. Once you start dong ATC's they get a bit addictive but what fun they are and it is so nice to have lots of people's artwork to look back on.
    Enjoy the glittering.

  15. A great lot of lovely stash on your desk, Lisa, ready for playing with! ATCs are fun and I am sure you will find lots of people to swap with. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving 3 lovely comments! Glad you enjoyed my faux mother of pearl experiments. They were fun to do and I love the stuff and wanted to get an authentic result. As for my physio, she has already helped me in that I know that if I continue with her advice I will avoid permanent damage, but at the moment it's very hard to carry out her instructions as it feels far from natural or intuitive, and quite uncomfortable! It will come with practice, I am sure.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  16. I think I understood most of that but... lol it's kind of funny sometimes when I do read the English (english) typed versus you know American slang versions... the one that is the most curious to me is the Shimelle what is that? anyways, thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #36

    1. I'll leave on your blog too, but to answer your question. The Shimelle collections are a line of products by American Crafts by Shimelle laine. She is an American that lives in London. Her lines are general purpose rather than thematic, and they all work together. Cheers

  17. That photo would make a great crafter's jigsaw! There's so much to see there, I'm sure you had great fun getting it to that point. Hope the Laundromat trip wasn't too horrible....

  19. Isn't it funny how we think of our supplies separately as for scrapbooking and for art journalling, when they are totally interchangeable! Thanks for visiting - wishing you a lovely weekend! zsuzsa #21

  20. I LOVE the colorful 'mess' on your table Lisa. I spot alphabet-stickers (?) Something I sigh about... I took mine out last week - I have a lot but most sheets are missing the E... that's a letter we use a lot in Dutch. Bummer - ha, don't tell me to use a 3 instead... I did that already so the three's are missing too ;) Do you run out of certain letters often too? What's your solution for that? Thanks for visiting my blog last week, have a nice Sunday. Hug from the Netherlands, Marit #26

    1. I have used c's and added in a cut out piece from the z or x to create a lower case e. For upper case I've used a block style f and just added the bottom line. It really is such a pain when you think you have the perfect alpha sticker set to find you don't have the needed letters!

  21. Hi Lisa, what an interesting mess on your desk! HOpe you get to enjoy it once the laundry's done :o) I've moved more towards mixed media stuff and away for scrapping this year, just wish I had more time for both - and more space! Sorry for the late visit, I lost my interenet connection, what a pain :o) Annie C #47
