One Mama Duck

Crafting my way through life - one adventure at a time.

Hi! I'm LisaDV. Thanks for stopping by. This is my life, crazy and chaotic most of the time, and I wouldn't change a thing.

WOYWW 384

Hello, deskers!  Today I have quite the mess for your viewing pleasure!

While we were away last weekend for the Art Prize viewing, I received a message from a swap host. I guess I had signed up for a swap when she was needing 1 more person and had forgotten about it. Yikes. So this desk shot is the frenzy of activity that arose from me trying to complete the skinny border and title swap items to get in the mail this week.

I had over a month if I would have remembered. I kept feeling like I might have signed up for another swap somewhere, but for the life of me couldn't find or figure out where it was. I thought it was another ATC swap.   Oh, well, they are done and I'm actually fairly happy with them. So today, I get to finish off the grape jelly and start making applesauce -- Two things I've been putting off whilst working on swaps.

Linking up over at Julia's. Have a great week everyone!

  6. Glad you got it done in time - if a little tight. I stopped signing up for swaps as I felt overwhelmed. I always felt like I was forgetting something - not quite organised enough I guess.

  7. Oh my, a mad rush, but speedy projects are often my favourites. Which is lucky because I've got loads to do.

  8. Happy WOYWW. That is why I do not do swaps anymore (apart from having boxes full of swaps from other people) - I always used to sign up for too much and then panic. I am doing one Penpal swap now per month, and even then it is last minute! Ali x #10

  9. Good you got your swap done in time - I have an awful memory so avoid these situations as I'm sure to forget all about it - though I'm one of those people who leave everything to the last minute as I find I work best under pressure! (No I am not going to glue together my jigsaw as I have too many windows and not enough wall space for any more pictures - too many cross stitch and tapestry pictures!!)

  10. I'm glad I'm not the only one who says they'll do something and then forgets!! It doesn't half focus the attention though and you pulled it out of the bag, well done!

  13. I love that bunting!! The colors are gorgeous and there's just the perfect amount of detail... not too busy. I'm such a ninny-head, I don't sign up for swaps because I KNOW I would forget them all the time. Have a great week! Heather #40

  15. Been there and done that before. My daughter found a Swap file for me to list stuff on so I kinda have a way of tracking if I don't get sidetracked before I get it on the list. Love the banners/bunting. Have a great week. Vickie #2

  16. Ooh... those things we sign up for and forget later... I keep a 'note' on my whiteboard to get it all done in time 'cause I cannot stand tight deadlines *lol* Happy woyww & love from Holland, Marit #15

  17. Lots of pretty goodies on your desk for the swap! How embarrassing for your to have forgotten! I am sure the recipient will love the stuff anyway.

Thanks for your lovely comment - glad you like the Zengems. My non-cold seems to have more or less cleared up now. This bug seems to be doing the rounds everywhere! My appointment was OK - no cancer found on the scan, but they found some small clots in my lungs which aren't too serious but I've now got to start taking aspirin to thin my blood a bit. I wasn't aware of any problem.

My fabulous new iPad arrived yesterday and I'm having such fun playing with it and getting apps for it etc. Makes me wonder why I didn't get one ages ago!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  19. Hi Lisa
Grape jelly and Apple sauce - yum yum!
As for swaps - I am the worlds worse at forgetting things = maybe that is why i don't sign up for much these days.
Have a great week and thanks for the visit to my blog

  20. Hi Lisa, I've never had Grape Jelly, but love Apple Sauce.

I have to write down the swaps I have to do, otherwise I would forget.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  21. Hi Lisa! I sometimes need the pressure of a deadline to get going, though it's nicer when there's no time pressure. I'm glad you honored your commitment - some people don't bother you know, they just sign up and forget all about it. Once I took part in a swap where my partner (who I didn't know) didn't even tell me that she received my parcel. I had to chase it. She then acknowledged receipt, but didn't say thanks or anything and certainly did not send me anything in return. This put me off swaps for a while - I like swapping with people that I know. Thanks for visiting earlier and sorry it took me so long to get back to you! zsuzsa #22
